Udāna-vāyu is the energy of expression, not merely by words, but also by our actions and emotions. The seat of this energy is located in the throat region, where the Viśuddhi-cakra is located.
The Udāna-vāyu is responsible for refined expressions of our feelings and emotions, through our actions and words. A coherence of feelings, actions and words are considered to be a consequence of a balanced Udāna-vāyu and is considered the definition of Truth. The Udāna-vāyu, being responsible for communication, is also a key aspect of maintaining inter-personal relationships, which very much depend on respectful and meaningful interactions with one another.
This mantra honours the Udāna-vāyu and will be helpful to bring in us a sense of balance and harmony in our expressions. Place your hands in the throat area and listen to this mantra 12 times, three times a day, at sunrise, midday and sunset time.
