At the heart of all healing is care.

In every discipline of healing, the role of a care provider is extremely challenging, even if very rewarding. Every serious care provider will concur that the most potent ingredient in the healing process is not the tools utilized but rather the care with which it is offered. Hence caregiving is not just a challenge but also a significant responsibility that requires great strength and vitality from the caregiver.

The more potent a healing process must be, the more is required from the caregiver. This is true both in terms of the tools that can be offered as well as in the intensity of care needed to facilitate healing on different layers. Any intense healing situation implies that the caregiver needs an almost unlimited source of energy and vitality to sustain the challenges that the healing process can confront him/her with. Also, by offering the healing process over a long term, it is quite possible that the care giver becomes vulnerable and in turn, prone to illnesses or challenges. Providing care is often exhausting and thus can leave the caregiver weak over time. This is why regular care is also needed for the care provider at all times.

For these two main reasons of obtaining great innate strength and being protected throughout any healing journey, the traditional systems from the Vedic culture conceived the concept of Kavacam. Though the word Kavacam literally means an ‘armour’, it represents a much more profound concept. True to its meaning, it does serve as protective armour that will provide continual security to the caregiver. However, the Kavacam also serves a much higher purpose or principle.

In the Vedic culture, Healing and Caring are considered to be part of a spiritual process. The energy of healing and caring is considered pure and divine. Hence even if the caregiver facilitates the healing process, a connection to a supreme entity is essential. The Kavacam served precisely this purpose. The Kavacam is a spiritual armour that the caregiver adorns to bring the divine source of pure energy closer to the heart. This would not only ensure that the healing process is safe but also that it is pure and sacred. By linking strongly with the Kavacam, the caregiver is not only protected in the long term but is also linked to the divine source of healing.

It is for this reason that many forms of Kavacam-s were conceptualised by the great seers of the past. Each of these Kavacams involved chants, meditation and specific gestures, all coordinated in an intricate yet simple manner. Each of the Kavacam-s re also dedicated to a particular deity, be it a form of the divine (Narayana, Hayagriva, Mahalakshmi etc.), or a natural phenomenon such as one of the planets (Sun, Moon, etc).

Learning carefully and long-term practice of the Kavacam-s can benefit every caregiver in the following ways:

  • Make one a better Care Giver

  • Protect oneself while offering care to care seekers

  • Vitalise your energy so that the healing responsibility can be sustained

  • Improve sensitivity, perception and clarity

  • Offer spiritual cleansing from any negative or dark energy that is remaining

  • Facilitate self-healing at the conscious and subconscious layers

  • Bring one closer to their own source of light in the heart

  • Facilitate a closer connection to the divine

This online course will mainly interest caregivers who want to become better healers and teachers, those seeking self-healing, and those who would like to connect to natural deities or the divine.
