A GLOBAL PRAYER INITIATIVE FOR PEACE, WELLING AND SPIRITUAL WELLBEING

Vijayadashami marks the end of Durgā-pūjä, remembering goddess Durgā's victory over the buffalo demon Mahiśāsura to restore and protect dharma. It is also believed to mark the occasion when Lord Rāma has his victory over the demon Rāvaṇa. On the very same occasion, it is also believed that Arjuna singlehandedly decimated more than 1,000,000 soldiers and defeated all Kuru warriors including Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Aśvatthāma, Karṇa and Kripa, a significant example of the victory of good (Dharma) over evil (Adharma).
Dr. Kausthub Desikachar organized a global prayer to honor this festive day through Zoom, and participants from around the world joined in.
