Patañjali's Yogasūtra I.27

Yogasūtra I.27 - tasya vācakaḥ praṇavaḥ

How should we refer to God? How should we connect to him/her?

The word that represents God is Praṇava.

In different cultures and religions, different words are used to describe God. In the Vedic tradition, that word is the Praṇava (Oṁ). It is more important that we refer to God with the greatest respect and without any conflicts. In this, a competent teacher can be of immense value to help us choose the right word suitable for our personal evolution, based on our beliefs and capacities.
