Patañjali's Yogasūtra II.11 | Explained By Viniyoga® Expert Dr Kausthub Desikachar

Yogasūtra II.11 - dhyāna-heyāḥ-tad-vṛttayaḥ

However, when the sources of affliction are reappearing,

[When evident,] their activities must be reduced through meditative reflection.

Although Patañjali advises making them impotent whilst still subtle, we must not ignore the Kleśa-s when they are active and must choose any means of meditative reflection to weaken them. Some ways were suggested in the previous chapter, in aphorisms I.23, I.32 and I.33 to I.39, as well as the different components of Kriyā-yoga.
