Śiva-ṣaḍakṣari-mantra
Lord Śiva is the third deity among the divine trinity and is considered the lord of destruction. He destroys all that is dark and gives us the strength to face our challenges and fulfil our potential. He resides in Mount Kailash with his consort Pārvatī Devi, and together they are constantly protecting this world from the evil of all kinds.
He can be identified as one who adorns the moon on his head, and a serpent around his neck, and carries a trident as his weapon. He also holds a hand drum called Ḍamaru in his hand, which is believed to have produced Saṁskṛta alphabet. He is often worshipped in the aniconic form of a Lingam that represents the cosmic union of male and female energies.
This mantra, also known as the Ṣaḍakṣari-mantra is the most important mantra to honour Lord Śiva. Listen to it three times each day, and each time listen to it about 6 times.
