Navagraha Ketu Gāyatrī Mantra | Viniyoga Chants by Dr Kausthub Desikachar
Navagraha-s are the nine heavenly bodies and deities that influence human life on Earth and is greatly relevant in Vedic tradition, especially Vedic Astrology. The term is derived from Nava, meaning nine, and Graha, meaning house, planet, seizing, laying hold of, holding. The Vedic calendar's seven days of the week is also based on the Navagraha. The position of each of these houses in our astrological chart that is calculated based on the time and place of our birth influences our dharma (purpose) and karma (destiny).
Śrī Ketu (Descending node of the moon) represents grandparents, ancestors, technical trades, spiritual inclinations, and superstitions. The scriptures describe him as having the tail of a serpent as his body, a description which very much matches with his connection to the image of a comet. However, in the images, he is usually shown riding upon a vulture and holding a mace.
Ketu gives very good Intuition. It means the person has prior knowledge of the future events in his life somehow: for example if an accident is written in your destiny it will happen for sure, but strong and positive Ketu will tell you well in advance. Ketu gives excellent abilities to do mathematics and numbers calculations very fast. Thanks to Ketu, one will be very good at hiding things and can keep many secrets, thanks to Ketu.
Listen to this chant six times, once in the morning and once in the afternoon and benefit from the power of Ketu.
oṁ citravarṇāya vidmahe | sarparūpāya dhīmahi | tanno ketuḥ pracodayāt
